Grandma Gambit absolutely battered me and I loved every second Right, so I stumbled onto this expecting a quiet game of chess and Grandma Gambit had the nerve to talk to me like I'd just dropped a lineout ball on my own try line. Absolutely ruthless. That trash-talk pane they call Lingo is genuinely funny, it fires through the whole game and the six bot personas each have their own distinct voice, so you're not just grinding against a faceless engine. As a rugby coach I spend a lot of time thinking about what makes someone actually want to keep competing, and Chessingo nails it, the banter creates stakes that the board alone wouldn't. You jump in through the browser, no download, no account, just pick your opponent and get roasted. The arcade pace keeps it moving so it never becomes a slog, and knowing the leaderboard rank is earned through play rather than bought is something I genuinely respect. The human versus human multiplayer is live too if you want to take the trash talk to a mate. Global rankings and some of the other stuff look like they're still being built out, but the core loop, jump in, face a bot with an actual personality, get humbled, go again, is already worth your time. Sal "The Fork" Marino will fork you in three moves and not apologise. Proper stuff. 👍 Six distinct bot personas with real personality, Lingo banter is actually funny · Browser play, no download, no sign-up, instantly competitive 👎 Rankings and clash mode still being built out ⭐ 9/10 🎮 Chessingo (HyperSonic Games Studio (published by Tyga Games), 2026)
